Parliament of Catalonia elections in 2006

Breaches:



First Catalan elections since the approval of the Statute of Catalonia. Artur Mas’s CiU wins with 48 seats, but fails to form a government and the tripartite coalition of the PSC (now led by José Montilla), the ERC (led by Josep Lluís Carod-Rovira) and the ICV – EUiA (led by Joan Saura) is confirmed. The PP, led by Josep Piqué, wins 14 seats, and Ciudadanos, which is headed by Albert Rivera and is participating in the elections for the first time, wins 3.
