The Electoral Board takes disciplinary action against Catalunya Ràdio

Breaches:

The Central Electoral Board imposes four penalties of 1,000 euros on the Catalan Media Corporation (CCMA) for having violated impartiality in broadcasting during the electoral period following a complaint by the PP. These penalties are given in relation to two editorial comments by Mònica Terribas on 28 and 30 November, for broadcasting the Concert for Freedom on 2 December, and the ‘Fill the streets of Brussels’ demonstration on 7 December. This comes after the Central Electoral Board called for the Provincial Board of Barcelona to initiate disciplinary action for these reasons, given that the Provincial Electoral Board had ruled out taking action in this regard. On 9 February, the CCMA appealed the decisions of the Central Electoral Board before the Supreme Court.
