Amnesty Law passed by Spanish Congress of Deputies

Breaches:



The Amnesty Law is passed with 177 in favour (PSOE, Sumar, ERC, Junts, PNB, Bildu i BNG) and 172 against (PP, VOX, UPN and CC) and no abstentions. It is passed after the Senate voted against it. A few hours later the passing of he law, the Spanish Supreme Court Prosecutor’s Office oppose its application as regards the leaders of the 1 October referendum sentenced or indicted for embezzlement (Carles Puigdemont, Toni Comín, Lluís Puig, Oriol Junqueras, Jordi Turull, Dolors Bassa and Raül Romeva). A few days before, it is made public that a group of judges have been sending a guide that, inter alia, provides forms to submit questions of unconstitutionality and preliminary question to the Spanish Constitutional Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
