The CUP councillor in the Tarragona Town Hall and three other people have been accused of the alleged crime of public disturbance due to their participation in the protests held on 21 December 2018 against the convening of the Council of Ministers in Barcelona. Estrada declares on Twitter that the accusation has been ‘blown completely out of proportion’ by the Mossos d’Esquadra. Estrada also states that she refuses to appear in court by way of protest against the violation of citizens’ fundamental rights. On 28 January 2021, she was summoned to testify for a second time before the Examining Magistrate’s Court of Tarragona, but refused to do so once again.
