Jose Téllez convicted for a crime of disobedience

Breaches:

The Seventh Examining Magistrate’s Court of Barcelona fines Jose Téllez, a city councillor for Guanyem Badalona en Comú, third deputy mayor of Badalona and member of the CUP, 4,380 euros for a crime of disobedience. On 25 September 2017, he took confiscated referendum campaign posters from a Badalona City Police car and returned them to Òmnium activists. The court dismisses the argument that his actions were protected in the context of defending freedom of expression and civil rights. Jose Téllez appeals the sentence before the Provincial Court of Barcelona.
