Parliament allows remote investiture of the presidency of the Government of Catalonia

Breaches:

Parliament’s Plenary Session approves a modification in Presidency Law to enable the investiture of the Presidency of the Government of Catalonia remotely -without a candidate being physically present- during the investiture debate. This was approved through the single reading procedure with favourable votes of JxCat, ERC and CUP, in a reform proposal submitted by JxCat on 9 February. On 26 April, the Council of Statutory Guarantees, at the request of Ciudadanos and PSC, ruled that this reform violates the Statute and the Constitution.
