Pedro Sánchez is appointed president of the Spanish government

He is elected in the second round of voting and by a simple majority, with 167 votes in favour (the PSOE, Unidas Podemos, the PNV, Más País, Compromís, NC, Teruel Existe and BNG), 165 votes against (PP, Vox, Ciudadanos, JxCat, UPN, the CUP, PRC, Forum and CC), and 18 abstentions (ERC and Euskal Herria Bildu). With Unidas Podemos, Sánchez forms the first coalition government that is considered left-wing since the Second Spanish Republic.
