The European Parliament recognises Junqueras, Puigdemont and Comín as full Members of European Parliament

Breaches:

The European Parliament issues a notification citing the 19 December ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union, which established that MEP status is obtained solely on the basis of the electoral results and does not require any other formalities. In the first plenary session of the year, on 13 January, the European Parliament formally announces that it ‘takes note’ of the MEP status of Carles Puigdemont, Oriol Junqueras and Antoni Comín. In the case of Junqueras, this contradicts the Central Electoral Board’s decision to strip him of his seat.
