Responding to the president of the European Parliament, the Central Electoral Board (JEC) states that Puigdemont, Comín, Ponsatí and Solé have not acquired full MEP status

Breaches:

The JEC is answering a letter sent by the president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, on 22 September 2022, in which she requested clarification as to the fact that the Central Electoral Board had only officially notified the European Parliament of 55 elected MEPs, rather than the 59 allocated for Spain. The JEC replies that MEPs Carles Puigdemont, Toni Comín, Clara Ponsatí (Lliures per Europa) and Jordi Solé (ERC) have not acquired full MEP status, as they did not swear or promise allegiance to the Spanish Constitution before the JEC, and that their rights and privileges are suspended subject to the same conditions.
