Roger Verdaguer, arrested during the protests against the ruling banning Quim Torra from public office, is put on trial

Breaches:

Roger Verdaguer had participated in a roadblock on the C-58 highway during a protest against the ruling banning Quim Torra from public office, and refused to identify himself to the Mossos during the arrest. The Mossos later obtained his personal information when they carried out a court-ordered search of his phone. The Prosecutor’s Office is now seeking a 12-month prison sentence and a 5,000-euro fine, or, alternatively, a six-month prison sentence, on the charges of disobedience and resisting authority. The day of the trial, Verdaguer rips up his summons in front of a Terrassa courthouse and tells the judge that she has no moral authority to try him, as ‘the judicial branch has shattered democracy by imposing itself on the legislative branch.’
