The Sixth Criminal Court of Barcelona condemns former president Quim Torra for a crime of disobedience to a penalty of disqualification from public office for 15 months and a fine of 24,000 euros for not having removed the banner with the message ‘freedom for political prisoners and exiles’ and a yellow ribbon from the façade of the Palau de la Generalitat outside of the electoral period, as instructed by the High Court of Justice of Catalonia, following a complaint filed by Impulso Ciudadano. The Prosecutor’s Office asked for a 30,000 euro fine and 8 months of disqualification from public office, and Impulso Ciudadano, acting as public prosecution, asked for a 108,000 euro fine and a two-year disqualification penalty.
