The president of Parliament, Roger Torrent, refuses to submit to a vote of the Bureau a document presented by JxCat revoking the instructions issued by the secretary-general of Parliament, Xavier Muro, to proceed with Torra’s disqualification as an MP. Although there is debate as to whether or not the loss of his seat in the Catalan Parliament automatically entails the loss of his status as president of the Government of Catalonia, Torra ultimately remains in this role, as defended by the Parliament’s lawyers.
