The Constitutional Court upholds the prisoners’ suspension as MPs

Breaches:

The Plenary Session of the Constitutional Court upholds the March 2018 decision of Pablo Llarena, the investigating judge in the case against the leaders of the 1 October referendum, to suspend Oriol Junqueras and Raül Romeva (decision upheld on 28 January), as well as Jordi Turull, Jordi Sànchez and Josep Rull (decision upheld on 25 February) as members of Parliament, given that they were being prosecuted for the crime of rebellion. Although the Supreme Court ended up throwing out the charge of rebellion due to the lack of violence, the fact that Llarena kept them on trial for this crime did allow their disqualification from public office before their sentence.
