The Central Electoral Board declares Ponsatí’s seat in the European Parliament vacant

Breaches:

Despite the Court of Justice of the EU’s 19 December ruling establishing that MEP status is acquired when the election results are announced, the Central Electoral Board insists on declaring Clara Ponsatí’s seat vacant because she did not appear before the Central Electoral Board to declare allegiance to the Constitution. As such, the Central Electoral Board sends an incomplete list of post-Brexit MEP-elects to the European Parliament. Ponsatí will appeal the Central Electoral Board’s decision before the Supreme Court and, subsequently, present an appeal for protection before the Constitutional Court.
