The Central Electoral Board initiates a disciplinary procedure against the Catalan Media Corporation for violating information neutrality

Breaches:

The Central Electoral Board accepts the appeal presented by Ciudadanos’ against the decision of the Provincial Electoral Board of Barcelona not to discipline the Catalan Media Corporation (CCMA) for airing a documentary about the family members of the 1 October political prisoners during the Sense Ficció programme on 9 April, during the general election period. The Central Electoral Board rules that the TV3 channel violated the principles of information neutrality and decides to initiate a disciplinary procedure. The CCMA appeals both this decision and the Central Electoral Board’s 27 March ruling that TV3 violated information neutrality in its coverage of the pro-independence demonstration held in Madrid on 16 March in front of the Supreme Court.
