The Constitutional Court orders an investigation into the physical abuse suffered by Guillem Padilla during his arrest following the protests against the 1 October sentence on Via Laietana

Breaches:

The Constitutional Court accepts the appeal for protection filed by Guillem Padilla and considers that his right to effective judicial protection has been violated concerning the right not to be subjected to torture or to inhuman and demeaning treatment. The Court considers that the resolutions of the Examining Magistrate’s Court no. 11 and the Provincial Court of Barcelona that did not admit his complaint to proceedings violated his rights. So, it declares them null and void and takes the appeal to a court of first instance. Padilla, who had been arrested during the protests against the sentence on Via Laietana, filed a complaint against 8 National Police officers for crimes of torture, minor injuries, attacking his moral integrity and violating his constitutional guarantees.
