The Electoral Board prohibits the use of the terms ‘exile’ and ‘political prisoners’ in public media outlets

Breaches:

Ciudadanos reports the Catalan Media Corporation to the Provincial Electoral Board of Barcelona for the use of the terms ‘exile’, ‘political prisoners’ and ‘repressive trial’ in news programmes on TV3 and Catalunya Ràdio. On 27 March, the Provincial Board rules in favour of Ciudadanos and orders public media outlets to refrain from using these terms during the election period, and in particular to refrain from referring to the prosecution of the leaders of the 1 October referendum as a ‘repressive trial’, as it is a ‘trial being held in line with the standards of the rule of law’.
