The Electoral Board of Lleida orders the CUP to remove pro-independence symbols from its office in Lleida’s Town Hall

Breaches:

Following a complaint presented by Ciudadanos, the Electoral Board gives Francesc Gabarell, president of the CUP’s municipal group, 24 hours to remove pro-independence flags, yellow ribbons and other symbols of the independence movement from the window of the party’s office in Lleida’s Town Hall in the run-up to the 28 April general elections. On 9 April, the Electoral Board issues another summons, this time to the other president of the municipal group, Pau Juvillà, since the group is not complying with its orders. Finally, on 10 April 2019, the Prosecutor’s Office files a complaint against Pau Juvillà before the Examining Magistrates’ Courts of Lleida for an alleged crime of disobedience.
