The mayoress of Roses is tried for disobedience

The First Criminal Court of Figueres has initiated the trial against the mayoress of Roses, Montserrat Mindan, for the alleged crime of disobedience for allowing municipal premises to be opened for the 1 October voting. The First Examining Magistrate’s Court of Figueres had previously shelved the case but the Provincial Court of Girona ordered the proceedings to be reopened following the petition issued by the Prosecutor’s Office. The Prosecutor’s Office is demanding a one-year disqualification and a fine of 3,240 euros for the mayoress. The trial is pending sentence.
