The Minister of Justice Rafael Catalá announces in an interview with Espejo Público the possibility of ‘disqualifying’ the defendants in the prosecution of the leaders of the 1 October referendum before a sentence is passed

Breaches:

The Minister of Justice, a member of the PP, is referring to the suspension of public functions of the accused, provided for in article 384 bis of the Criminal Procedure Act, when the magistrate Pablo Llarena dictates an interlocutory order of prosecution in the prosecution of the leaders of the 1 October referendum. The minister also points to the fact that this disqualification could affect former members of the Catalan government who are currently in Brussels. In July, Llarena will effectively apply this suspension, which will affect the members of the Parliament of Catalonia Carles Puigdemont, Oriol Junqueras, Raül Romeva, Josep Rull, Jordi Turull and Jordi Sànchez.
