The National High Court summons the former director and former secretary-general of the Mossos d’Esquadra to testify for their involvement in events related to the 20 September demonstrations and the 1 October referendum

At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, Examining Magistrate’s Court andNational High Court judge, Carmen Lamela, summons the former director of the Mossos d’Esquadra, Pere Soler, and the former Secretary-General of the Interior Cèsar Puig to give evidence for coming under investigation for their involvement in the events related to the 20 September demonstrations and the 1 October referendum. Following their statement, on 9 March the judge considers that there are signs of their participation but agrees that they should be released without bail and applies a series of precautionary measures such as confiscation of their passports and requiring them to report back in court every 15 days.
