The second trial for disobedience against former president Quim Torra is held

Breaches:

The former president of the Government of Catalunya Quim Torra decides not to appear at the oral trial session of the second case against him for crimes of disobedience before the Sixth Criminal Court of Barcelona. Quim Torra had already been sentenced to disqualification for the same crime for not having removed the banner with the message ‘Freedom for political prisoners and exiles’ alongside a yellow ribbon from the façade of the Palau de la Generalitat, in compliance with the orders of the Central Electoral Committee. This time, he is accused of crimes of disobedience for not having followed the instructions of the High Court of Justice, at the behest of the Impulso Ciudadano association, to remove the same banner, only this time outside of the electoral period. Quim Torra publishes a video where he explains his absence from the trial, claiming that this trial is ‘a new farce.’ The trial is held anyway, given that the presence of the accused is not necessary for the penalties requested by the Prosecutor’s Office and the association Impulso Ciudadano.
