A Barcelona court shuts down the ANC’s Consum Estratègic (Strategic Consumption) website as a precautionary measure

On 23 July 2019, Foment del Treball Nacional had filed a complaint against the ANC over the initiative. As precautionary measures, the Mercantile Court no. 11 of Barcelona is now ordering the closure of the website and a halt to any activities that involve sharing it. The court claims, among other arguments, that the ANC had deployed material and human resources inciting discrimination and that this cannot be protected by freedom of opinion. According to the ANC, the Consum Estratègic website sought to promote companies that hadn’t taken part in the fear campaign. The website included a search engine and a list of consumers, companies and services with republican values.
