A court in Manresa prosecutes the head of security of the Manresa Mossos d’ Esquadra and town councillor Joan Pesarrodona for events related to the 1 October referendum

Breaches:

The Second Examining Magistrate’s Court Manresa, which centralises the investigations related to the 1 Octoer referendum in the region of Bages where Jordi Pesarrodona, ERC town councillor for Sant Joan de Vilatorrada is under investigation for a crime of disobedience, summons him to testify again on 23 April, for the crime of inciting hatred and another serious crime of resisting authority at Escola Joncadella school during the 1 October referendum, following a statement by the Civil Guard. The judge is also investigating the Head of Citizen Security at the Mossos d’Esquadra police station in Manresa, for a crime of disobedience, for his actions at the same school. Finally, however, the judge suspends the statements of those under investigation and provisionally files the case because she does not see enough evidence of a crime. The Prosecutor’s Office appeals this, but on 27 September, it is conformed by the Provincial Court of Barcelona.
