A resident of the city of Blanes is put on trial for hanging yellow ribbons near the Sol d’Or restaurant

Breaches:

The courts of Blanes begin the trial against a city resident and ERC member accused of a crime of minor coercion for hanging yellow ribbons. In May 2018 Manolo García, owner of the Sol d’Or restaurant, filed a complaint before the Civil Guard over the ribbons, which led to a media campaign in support of García. Xavier García Albiol, an MP for the PP, visited the restaurant to show his support following what he described as the ‘attack [García] suffered as a result of the totalitarianism and intolerance of part of the Catalan population’. Six days later, the court acquits the defendant.
