An investigation by the Court of Auditors begins into the government of Catalonia’s expenses for holding the 9 November consultation

Breaches:

Following the complaint by Societat Civil Catalana and Abogados por la Constitución, the Court of Auditors decides to initiate an investigation into the government of Catalonia’s expenses for organising the 9 November consultation, as requested by the Prosecutor’s Office and the State’s Attorney Office, which is part of the proceeding after having expressly requested it. The government of Catalonia had requested that the proceedings be shelved and had opposed the State Attorney’s Office being part of it, because the State was not harmed. The investigation is led by María Llanos Castellanos, former minister of PSOE in the government of Castile-La Mancha between 2004 and 2007, who in 2020 will be elected MP by the PSOE in the Congress in Madrid and appointed president of National Heritage by the government of Pedro Sánchez.
