Barcelona Provincial Court decides to unify legal proceedings of Investigating Court number 13 and Investigating Court number 18

Breaches:

The court finds that there is a connection between the investigated facts, and now Investigating Court number 13 will carry out investigating proceedings. Therefore, one of the conclusions of the Provincial Court is the fact that two courts investigate, Investigating Court number 13 and Investigating Court number 18, the expenses for the Catalan independence process, is forbidden by law. This decision unblocks both proceedings, that had been stalled for a year, but entails new proceedings in the case of Court 13, that will lead to delays. Indeed, the Provincial Court, in the decision, admits that it is fully aware that this situation grows the complexity of the Court’s case. As regards Investigating Court number 18, it will keep the case of the Foreign Policy of the Catalan Government, but only concerning the expenses of Artur Mas administration.
