Clara Ponsatí arrested in Barcelona for the second time

Breaches:

In the morning, Clara Ponsatí announces on social media that she is in Barcelona. It is the first time that Ponsatí is back in Barcelona after Pablo Llarena, Supreme Court investigating judge in the case against the leaders of the 1 October independence referendum, issued a new national arrest warrant, in 21 June. Shortly after her tweet, the Mossos d’Esquadra tell the press that they are looking for Ponsatí. The agents then arrest the MEP in the Eixample neighbourhood in Barcelona and she is brought to the ‘Ciutat de la Justícia’. She appears before Barcelona Investigating Court number 14, the duty court on that moment, and Pablo Llarena decides not to bring her to Madrid to give a statement. However, the judge sends a series of questions to the court, that Ponsatí will not answer. Shortly thereafter, she is released. On the following day, Llarena ends the pre-trial stage of proceedings as regards Ponsatí. In September, the Prosecutor’s Office, before the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court judges make any decision, asks for the commencement of trial proceedings against Clara Ponsatí.
