Comedians from El Jueves magazine prosecuted for a joke about the Spanish police

Breaches:

The Examining Magistrate’s Court no. 20 of Barcelona opens investigations against the director of the satirical magazine El Jueves, Guillermo Martínez-Vela, for an alleged crime of slander, following a complaint by the Spanish police for an article entitled ‘The continued presence of riot police depletes Catalonia’s cocaine reserves.’ Following a statement by the director, on 8 November the judge summons the author of the article and assistant director of the magazine, Joan Ferrús, who is also under investigation and asked to testify.
