The Court of Auditors fines Mas 5 million euros for the 9 November consultation

Breaches:



The Chamber of Justice of the Court of Auditors upholds the conviction of Artur Mas, Irene Rigau, Joana Ortega, Francesc Homs and former senior officials of the Government of Catalonia for accounting misconduct in connection with the organisation of the 9 November consultationand raises the amount they are responsible for to 4.988 million euros. Those convicted appeal before the Supreme Court. The Caixa de Solidaritat, a solidarity fund run by members of civil society, contributes more than 2 million euros, which, together with the amount already deposited as a bond, covers the total amount of the sentence.
