The European Parliament calls on Europol to propose an investigation in the Member States where Pegasus software has been used

Breaches:

In the context of the Catalangate, the chairman of the European Parliament Committee investigating the use of Pegasus and similar programs sends a letter to the executive director of Europol, Catherine de Bolle, explaining that the targets include journalists, politicians, NGOs and public officials from countries such as Hungary, Poland, Spain and Greece, as well as the European Commission. The letter also highlights concerns about the ability and willingness of state authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and promptly, as well as the risk of evidence disappearing or being destroyed. As such, it argues, Europol must act urgently.
