Montserrat Mindan has been acquitted of the crime of disobedience for allowing municipal premises to be used for the 1 October referendum. The court magistrate, Estela Ramos Díaz, concluded that ‘it has been proven that neither the Town Hall nor the mayoress issued direct or indirect orders to expedite the voting on 1 October from the public institution.’
