The former ERC councillor of Sant Joan de Vilatorrada, Jordi Pesarrodona, has been sentenced to 14 months of disqualification for his involvement in the 1 October referendum

Breaches:

The former councillor has been disqualified from holding any public office or position and fined 2,100 euros for the crime of disobedience for impeding the entry of the Civil Guard, encouraging citizens to vote in the educational centre and remaining on the front line to impede the Civil Guard from performing their duties at the Joncadella School during the 1 October referendum. Pessarrodona claimed to be unaware that the Constitutional Courthad banned the referendum. In November, Pesarrodona’s defence filed an appeal against the sentence.
