The hearing of Sànchez and Forn’s appeals against Llarena’s decision to keep them in preventive detention is held

Breaches:

The hearing of the appeals by JxCat MPs Jordi Sànchez and Joaquim Forn against the decision by Supreme Court magistrate Pablo Llarena to keep them in preventive detention is being held. Sànchez announces that he will resign as MP. The Prosecutor’s Office continues to oppose the release of Sànchez but requests the release of Forn for humanitarian reasons by express order of the State Attorney General. On the same day, the same Supreme Court rejects the appeal of Sànchez, who submits an appeal for protection against the decision, which is admitted by the Constitutional Court on 8 May. Later, the Chamber also rejects Forn’s appeal, so both will remain in preventive detention.
