The National Police is revealed to have been investigating an alleged ’Russian plot’ in the independence process without any evidence

Breaches:

“ElDiario” reports that the National Police was carrying out a prospective investigation into an alleged Russian conspiracy within the Catalan independence process and that the National High Court filed it away because it found no evidence of crime. The investigation is closed with the support of the Prosecutor’s Office, which criticises in a very harsh letter that the only evidence provided was the testimony of an informant and links to media sites. ‘The police has provided nothing to justify keeping this investigation open, unless we decide to carry out a general investigation in search of any evidence that allows us to confirm the initial theses.’ They then added: ‘We cannot forget that this type of investigation is prohibited in a criminal procedure with full guarantees.’
