The pro-independence parties do not agree on how to handle Llarena’s decision to suspend parliamentary ministers

Breaches:

The Bureau of Parliament has not come to any agreement on how to deal with the effects of suspending the leaders prosecuted for rebellion for their involvement in the 1 October referendum (Carles Puigdemont, Oriol Junqueras, Jordi Turull, Raül Romeva, Josep Rull and Jordi Sànchez). The proposal by the president ofparliament Roger Torrent to approve the replacement of the suspended ministers by another member of their party receives favourable votes from ERC and PSC but JxCat abstains and Ciudadanos votes against it. JxCat understands that Puigdemont’s situation is different, because he is not in prison, and therefore he should not be suspended as a minister. As a result of the disagreement, Torrent convenes a Board of Spokespersons and it is agreed to cancel the plenary session with the favourable votes from all the groups except Ciudadanos and the CUP. The plenary session, the last of the session period, had met on 17 July and was supposed to last until the 19th.
