The proposal of an Amnesty Law is submitted to the Congress of Deputies

The text aims to amnesty acts that have derived in criminal, administrative or accounting liability, because of the consultations that took place in Catalonia in 9 November and 1 October and carried out between 1 January 2012 and 13 November 2023. It also includes some actions between these dates, not directly linked with these consultations or carried out after they took place. The General Council of the Judiciary passes, a week before registering the law, a declaration against it. The Supreme Court, shortly after the law is submitted, issues a statement whereby it reminds the respect for the division of powers, the equality in the application of the law and the need to guarantee and preserve judicial independence.
