The Spanish government challenges the Government of Catalonia’s foreign affairs plan before the Constitutional Court

The ‘Strategic Plan for Foreign Affairs and Relations with the European Union 2019-2022’ adopted by the Government of Catalonia on 25 June is challengedbefore the Constitutional Courtby the Spanish government, which alleges that it infringes upon the central government’s powers and arguing that it ‘projects Catalonia as a state’. On 30 October, the Constitutional Court accepts the challenge for consideration and the plan is put on hold.
