Breaches:
The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court dismisses the appeal presented by Carles Puigdemont and Antoni Comín against the decision of the investigating magistrate of the 1 October case, Pablo Llarena, to maintain the national arrest warrants and the European arrest warrants despite their immunity. It also rejects the arguments of Puigdemont and Comín that question the authority of the Supreme Court to prosecute them and, therefore, their right to request the retracting of their immunity as MEPs. Both have filed their appeal for protection before the Constitutional Court. On 29 December, the Chamber is also set to dismiss Clara Ponsatí’s appeal, who will also go before the Constitutional Court.
