18 charged for blocking the AVE high-speed train line in Girona

Breaches:

Following the January 2019 arrest of 16 individuals by the National Police, charges have now been brought against two more activists for blocking the AVE line in Girona. In addition to these 18 individuals, charged with alleged public disturbance, three more are under investigation in connection with the protests that took place in Girona on the same day (the first anniversary of the 1 October referendum), for a total of 21 activists affected. Of these 21, 19 were arrested by the National Police and two by the Mossos d’Esquadra. The first 16 activists arrested by the National Police for blocking the AVE line file a complaint before the Provincial Court of Girona, accusing the National Police of injuries and illegal arrest.
