The National High Court confirms that it has the jurisdiction to try the leaders of the Mossos d’Esquadra

The Criminal Chamber of the National High Court dismisses the appeal presented byPere Soler , former chief of the Mossos d’Esquadra, and Cèsar Puig, former secretary-general of Catalonia’s Ministry of the Interior, who had questioned the jurisdiction of this court to try them for the crimes of sedition and rebellion in connection with the events of 20 September and 1 October. Soler and Puig file an appeal against the decision before the Appeals Chamber of the National High Court, which dismisses it. With its jurisdiction confirmed, the Criminal Chamber sets the date of 20 January 2020 for the start of the trial.
