Juan Antonio Ramírez Sunyer, Barcelona Examining Magistrate’s Court no. 13 judge who investigated the case against the organisers of the 1 October referendum has died. The president of the Supreme Court and of the CGPJ Carlos Lesmes, sent him a letter shortly before his death telling him that he had changed the history of Spain. The Standing Committee of the General Council of the Judiciary passes over the position of Barcelona Examining Magistrate’s Court no. 13 judge to Alejandra Gil Llima who will take on the 1 October referendum case.
