Breaches:
The Criminal Chamber of the National High Court dismisses appeals by Jordi Cuixart and Jordi Sànchez against the preventive detention ordered by the Examining Magistrate’s Court judge, Carmen Lamela. Appeals questioning Lamela’s competence are also dismissed. Cuixart and Sànchez also submit appeals for protection (on 22 November and 21 December respectively), which are admitted by the Constitutional Courton 5 February 2018.
