Four Mossos d’Esquadra officers testify before the court for mistreating demonstrators during the protests against the sentencing of the Pro-Independence leaders

Breaches:

Four agents of the Mobile Brigade of the Mossos d’Esquadra testify before Barcelona’s Examining Magistrate’s Court no. 25 in relation to the alleged crimes of causing injury and violating the moral integrity of the young men from Parets del Vallès, David Pérez and Àlvaro Alierta, when they were arrested in Barcelona during the protests against the sentencing of the Pro-Independence leaders. Both young men suffered blows and cuts to their bodies during the arrest. On 18 May 2021, the Provincial Court of Barcelona upheld the appeal lodged by the two young men against the dismissal of the proceedings against the four agents and reopened the case, arguing, in an interlocutory ruling, that there were ‘clear and sufficient’ indications of the crimes of causing injury and violating moral integrity.
