Girona Investigating Court number 2 dismisses the cases for the 1 October independence referendum baton charges in Girona, Aiguaviva and Sant Julià de Ramis

Breaches:

The Prosecutor’s Office had requested the dismissal of the case. The judge argues that the policemen acted in carrying out a duty and the acts of the police were not disproportionate, even though there were injuries, since they could not have acted in any other way, which excludes any criminal responsibility. The lawyers that promoted the lawsuit announce that they have appealed against the orders since they allege that the events have not met the statute of limitations and that the carrying out of a duty as a ground of excluding criminal responsibility finds no application in the present case.
