The Constitutional Courthas rejected the appeal for protection filed by Quim Torra against the decision of the Supreme Court not to suspend as a precautionary measure the decision the Central Electoral Board to withdraw his seat following his conviction for disobedience by the High Court of Justice of Catalonia, even though the conviction was not yet final. The Constitutional Court maintains that, since the sentence of disqualification has been ratified (by confirmation of the Supreme Court), the appeal is no longer valid. The former president announces that he will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
