The Constitutional Court upholds the prosecution and pre-trial detention of Jordi Cuixart

The plenary session of the Constitutional Court unanimously dismisses Jordi Cuixart’s appeals for protection against Supreme Court judge Pablo Llarena’s March 2018 decision to prosecute him in the case against the leaders of the 1 October referendum and to continue the pre-trial detention ordered by National High Court judge Carmen Lamela. In February, the Constitutional Court had already upheld Cuixart’s pre-trial detention, now preventive detention as the trial is already under way.
