The High Court of Justice of Catalonia sentences Laura Borràs to four years and a half in prison and requests a pardon

Breaches:

The High Court of Justice of Catalonia, presided by Jesús M. Barrientos, sentences her for the crimes of corrupt practice, forgery of official document and for inducing a continuous crime of forgery of business document. In addition to the prison sentence, the Court also sentences her to 13 years of disqualification. Nonetheless, in the same judgment, the High Court of Justice of Catalonia proposes to the Spanish government a partial pardon, namely, as regards the prison sentence, for Borràs. The High Court of Justice of Catalonia finds that the sentence imposed for the crime of documentary forgery is disproportionate and excessive for the reality of the criminal behaviour. The defence of Borràs announces an appeal against the judgment a few days later. Moreover, the JEC will commence proceedings to withdraw her seat.
