The Mossos d’Esquadra crack down on a protest against VOX in Girona

Breaches:

Half a thousand people take to the streets to protest the demonstration organised by VOX in Girona’s Plaça U d’Octubre for the Spanish Constitution holiday. The Mossos d’Esquadra’s BRIMO (riot police) unit attacks the protesters, injuring dozens. A joint complaint will be filed against the Mossos d’Esquadra, but is ultimately thrown out due to the inability to identify certain officers, since they were not wearing badges. Following the police violence, the Catalan Interior Ministry will sack BRIMO officer Carlos Hernández for using an extendable baton against several protesters and causing injuries. Officers arrest Ricard Llorente, who will be charged and ultimately acquitted.
