Breaches:
The High Court of Justice of Catalonia judges Mas, Ortega and Rigau for the crimes of disobedience and prevarication for the 9 November consultation. It rejects the charge of embezzlement from the PP accusation, which would have involved prison terms. The Prosecutor’s Office had already withdrawn this accusation in July. The High Court of Justice of Catalonia confirms that there is no crime of embezzlement because with the Penal Code prior to the 2015 reform, the crime requires the use of public funds for private purposes unrelated to public service.
